Thankful

It has been a year full of great blessings...and I want to remember them. I also feel grateful for the little things...the everyday rays of light that feel like heaven is on earth if not just for a second.

I am thankful for:

My husband...who knows me best and loves me anyway - the good and the bad...

Paige...my feisty and ultra-caring 4-year-old who, as my mom puts it, "has a strong sense of how things should be"...

Tyler...what an incredible blessing to our family...I had no idea what God had in store for me, for us, when I found out I was pregnant...I am so grateful to be his mom and to have a son...and a extremely chubby, smiley sweet son at that.

A home...I am thankful to have a roof over my head and food on my table...and even if it's modest, it's a mighty fine home that feels so comfortable and inviting...and it fits us just right.

Family and friends...people we love...people we can count on...people who bring us joy! I feel so blessed with so many wonderful people in our lives that if I called them out one-by-one, it would take all night. (P.S. If you are reading this, I am talking about YOU! :)

A mighty God who knows me and loves me unconditionally...who is never-failing...and an ever present source of hope in this life.

He is the creator of all good things, including...my morning cup of coffee, a cool evening hanging out in our front yard, a fire in the fireplace, the sweet coos of Tyler, a hug and "I love you mommy" from Paige, awesome neighbors, the warm sun on my skin, a piece of Dove chocolate...rain drops of roses and whiskers on kittens...nah, just kidding, but these are a few of my favorite things...and when the dog bites and the bee stings, I will have this post to remind me of the many blessings that are all around.

Happy Thanksgiving to all and to all a good night! May you feel God's presence and be blessed in times of joy and in times of suffering.

Love abounds

Surely, two of the most satisfying experiences in life must be those of being a grandchild or a grandparent.

Grandpa and Grandma came to visit in September and October this year. Here are some pictures of the fun. Paige and Tyler were in heaven...and I am pretty sure Grandma and Grandpa were too! :)
