Happy New Year!

Well, it's 2012! Here we are celebrating with a fire and some s'mores.
I just finished blogging about 2011 so check out the last few posts for pictures of our holiday fun.

Christmas Day

I love Christmas morning...Paige and Tyler were so excited to see what was in their stockings!
The stuffed giraffe she asked for...

And the candy cane was his favorite gift!

Grandpa made a special walking stick for Paige...
And Grandma found a special sled just for Tyler...
After a morning of present opening and breakfast eating...some play time in the snow was totally necessary. Here is Chris "sledding" on a saucer down our driveway.
This gets Ripley really riled up - can you tell?!
3 generations of Jacksons
We made a new friend too!A perfect Tyler-size friend!

Christmas Traditions

Christmas cookies with Grandpa...
(even Tyler got in on the action)
Checking out the ornaments with Grandma...
Family pictures before Christmas eve service...

Here Comes Santa Claus...

We took the Georgetown Loop Railroad to the North Pole to see Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus.
And a quick snapshot of Chris and Dad working on the Jeep in the COLD garage!

Another First

You know that little lake in front of our house? Well, guess what?! It's frozen and some kind neighbors plow it to make a hockey/skating rink. So we spent $13 at the consignment store for some used skates in exchange for another first...ICE SKATING!

Snowy Hike at Maxwell Falls

There is a hiking spot nearby...trails that lead to Maxwell Falls so we took a Sunday afternoon hike in December. As always, there was a bit of whining from a girl who shall remain nameless, but overall it was a fun time!

More elk in our yard...we mostly see them in the morning...and sometimes hear them at night outside our window.
Paige picked out a special present for Tyler at AWANA - she was so excited for him to open it that he had to do it first thing in the morning when he woke up. :)
Finally, our Christmas tree was a bit "top heavy" this year. A certain curious boy just couldn't keep his hands off all those shiny bulbs.
