Hodge Podge

It has been a few weeks since our last post so we need to catch you up on our adventures...

On a Sunday, we headed out to Pine Valley Ranch, a local park with a rushing river and plenty of space for the kids to play in the water. It was so good that Chris took them back later in the week for some more playtime.

Cheese! Anyone know how to get a 4-year-old to smile naturally???

We stopped at the infamous Bucksnort for lunch - sounds appetizing, huh? The restaurant is a wagon stop from the late 1800s so lots of history and good eats!

(Dad, this picture is for you.)

(Robb, this picture is for you.)

As any good dad would, Chris took the kids to a grave site....Buffalo Bill Cody's Museum and Gravesite...and they LOVED playing cowboys and cowgirls. OK, shield your eyes...you are about to see a legless horse...it's quite a spectacle and you may have nightmares.... ;)

Family and friends, meet Kit & Kat...they DO have legs and they are our neighbors! We see them in their pasture daily and on Saturdays, they pull a trolley downtown for $FREE! Paige is in love...with Clydesdales!

Another downtown event...the annual Dam Ducky Derby...7000 rubber duckies are let go at the Evergreen Dam and float down the creek. It is a fundraiser for community arts and events...everyone pays $5 for a duck and they "race". We didn't win. :(

And of course no event would be complete without MORE pony rides...who needs horse lessons?!

One of my oldest and dearest friends came to visit a couple weeks ago...Erin, Jules, and Nathaniel spent a day and night with us. We fed elk and deer together...we sat outside at night by the chiminea, we hiked around Lake Evergreen and topped it off with lunch at Beau Jo's pizza...it was fabulous!

Look at these two boys together - so sweet...

Another weekend roadtrip took us to Winter Park ski resort...Paige is getting braver and more adventurous every day. These are 3 "firsts" for her...jumping on the bungey trampoline, riding a ski lift, and taking the alpine slide down with Dad.
